Leos Carax is an art form

For the theatrical release of two masterpieces by French filmmaker Leos Carax (“Holy Motors”) Carlotta Films teams up with Le Cabinet de Curiosités at Maison Kitsuné in New York to create two unique artworks in the form of two film posters. These pieces will be specially created for this event for fans of Carax’s films “Mauvais Sang” and “Boy meets girl.”

Le Cabinet de Curiosités IV will be hosted at Maison Kitsuné New York Boutique and The Avant/Garde Diaries Project Space in New York City from December 2nd to December 23rd 2013.

Now about the films:

“Mauvais Sang” (“Bad blood” in French) is a disturbing film with multiple references to many film directors (as Carax is known to do in his film)–Godard in particular––, which seduces the viewer with its lyricism. Beyond its critical success, “Mauvais Sang” is above all a cult movie about France’s eighties generation (this film will be shown at Film Forum until December 5).

“Boy meets girl” is Leos Carax’s first feature film. Revealing an extreme sensitivity, this atypical masterpiece bluntly displays the social uneasiness of young adults suffering from the torments of their waning adolescence. “Boy meets girl” revealed Leos Carax as a first‐rate author and aesthete (in theaters in 2014).
