Oh what now, Gérard?
Paris-A motorist pressed charges last week against France’s best-known actor Gérard Depardieu (“Green Card”). According to the complaint the motorist got punched by the actor following a collision in the center of the capital. On Friday the actor admit during a radio interview to having had “a slightly disproportionate reaction.”
“There’s a scooter, there’s a car whose driver wasn’t paying attention and bam, that’s it. I was more startled than hurt and my reaction was a bit disproportionate, because of it, period. That’s all, it’s as simple as that,” the actor said during the broadcast.
“People notice me and they tend to press charges,” said Gérard Depardieu. “It’s the price of fame, as an idiot would say.”
Gérard Depardieu is no stranger to mood swings and tantrums. In Italy in 2005 he pounded on a paparazzi who was snapping photos of him. Last year, Depardieu urinated in the aisle while on a flight from Paris to Dublin, claiming he could not wait for the plane to take off.
