Ever since landing the lead role as Tony Stonem in the series “Skins” the young British actor Nicholas Hoult has become a bona fide sensation. He’s been gracing the big screen (nearly) since, most recently with roles in two feature films, “Jack the Giant Slayer” and “Warm Bodies.” Hoult had the lead part in “Jack the Giant Slayer,” that of a young farmer who comes to the rescue of a princess threatened by a giant. In the second one, “Warm Bodies” (see our REVIEW), Hoult plays a zombie who protects a young woman–interestingly enough, he’s just devoured her boyriend’s brain.

Nevertheless, Hoult is not exactly wet-behind-the-ears when it comes to entertaining. At the age of seven he played a mutant in “X-Men: First Class” (2011), appeared alongside Colin Firth in Tom Ford’s “A single man” and played a boy who complely turns a hardened single man’s (Hugh Grant) life upside down in “About a boy.”

In 2010, Hoult was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, the only award to be voted by the British public.

WHAT’S NEXT: Hoult has gotten a trainer and will soon hit the gym to bulk up something serious.
