CHANNING TATUM EARNS PEOPLE NOD
Fans of Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender are going to be disappointed, to be sure. The title of “Sexiest Man Alive ” has been awarded by People magazine to the actor Channing Tatum. This former thirty-two year-old model who hasIrish, French and Native American roots, has played in American blockbusters like “GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” “Magic Mike” and more recently “21 Jump Street,” which have all been reviewed in these pages.
Reacting to the honor bestowed to him on November 13 in a highly anticipated annual event in New York, the actor who is married to his ’10 Years’ co-star Jenna Dewan-Tatum, told People magazine: “My first thought was, ‘You are all are messing with me.’ I told Jenna after we’d been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they’d gotten skunked. She was like, ‘What?’ ”
Our thoughts exactly. But the award is well-deserved.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum told the magazine that her husband likes to sculpt, quotes Edgar Allan Poe, and excels in the practice of massage. That’s a well-rounded thespian if ever there was one.
Before Tatum, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp had all earned the magazine’s infamous nod. Last year, it was Bradley Cooper’s turn.
