ROCK’ N’ MOVIES – Manson & Depp collaborate, Nirvana-era doc in works

Two stories of note this morning: Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson will collaborate on a song on Manson’s upcoming album Born Villain. According to MTV, they’ve done a cover of the Carly Simon song You’re so Vain.

The other news tidbit is that some never-before-seen footage of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has been edited into a documentary, about to make its debut soon (theatrical release set for April 13th in New York and the following week in Los Angeles).

Patty Schemel, the drummer for Courtney Love’s rock band Hole, was in the middle of the Nineties grunge explosion caused by Nirvana.

Given a video camera just before Hole’s infamous Live Through This world tour, Patty filmed everything the shows, the parties, and startlingly intimate footage of Kurt and Courtney. This footage has never been seen until now. The resulting documentary is Hit so Hard.
